“Instead of building our first list as it was, the Mindrops team tested it, found it too long and cut it down until a new user could finish it easily.”

“Building separate iOS and Android apps was budget-prohibitive for us. Mindrops leveraged Flutter to ship a near-native dual-platform product in record time, keeping our launch right on schedule.”

Frequently Asked Questions
01Is a Flutter app as good as a native app?
For most apps, yes. Flutter compiles to native code, so scrolling, animation and navigation feel native in a well-built shopping, booking or content app. Native is still better for apps that depend heavily on the device — deep Bluetooth or hardware pairing, heavy camera or on-device AI work, home-screen widgets — or when your users are almost all on one platform. We tell you which fits during scoping.
02Do we get separate Android and iOS apps?
Yes. One codebase produces two real apps, each published on its own store and updated independently. Where the platforms genuinely differ — in-app purchase rules, permission prompts, notifications — we handle each one properly.
03How much does a Flutter app cost?
Building for both platforms from one codebase costs less than two native apps, though not half: store submission, device testing and some platform-specific work still happen twice. The main drivers are custom design and animation, the number of integrations, offline use and whether an existing app is being moved over. You get a written, itemised estimate before anything starts.
04How long does it take to build a Flutter app?
It depends on what the app has to do. One codebase shortens the build compared with two separate native apps, but store review still runs on each store’s own schedule. We commit to dates for each phase against a written scope.
05Can our existing app be moved to Flutter?
Usually, and not all at once. Flutter screens can be added inside your existing app, so the move happens feature by feature while the app stays live. We start with the screens that change most often, and your backend usually stays as it is.
06Can we hire Flutter developers by the month instead?
Yes. Dedicated Flutter developers from our in-house team can join your product by the month, working in your tools and sprints, with a senior Mindrops engineer reviewing their code. It suits teams that already have a roadmap and need extra Flutter hands. Developers are billed at a monthly rate per developer.
07Who owns the app and the code?
You do — the full Flutter code, signing setup for both platforms, build pipelines and backend code. Where you already have a code repository we work in it from the start, and the apps are published under your own App Store and Google Play accounts wherever possible.
08What support does a Flutter app need after launch?
Flutter, its add-on packages and both app stores all update regularly, so apps need upkeep. Our support covers those upgrades, fixes ahead of store deadlines, crash monitoring on both platforms and new features based on real usage. Long engagements are normal here: one platform engagement ran for more than four years.
