Cross-platform app development means building one app that runs on both iOS and Android from a single codebase, usually with Flutter or React Native. Mindrops picks the framework that fits your product and team, adds native Swift or Kotlin modules where needed, and delivers the backend, testing and both store releases.

What our cross-platform app development covers

Framework recommendation

A written comparison of Flutter, React Native and native for your app: performance, device features, team skills and running costs.

Flutter apps

Apps written in Dart with one rendering engine on both platforms, for identical design and smooth animation. See Flutter app development.

React Native apps

Apps written in TypeScript that use native interface components, a good fit when your team already works in React. See React Native app development.

Native modules where needed

Swift and Kotlin code for features a framework does not cover well, such as Bluetooth hardware, background location or custom camera work.

Shared backend & integrations

One API and admin panel for both apps, with payments, maps, push notifications, analytics and your existing systems.

Testing & two store releases

Testing on iPhone and Android devices, then App Store and Google Play submission under your accounts.

Who cross-platform development suits

Startups launching on both platforms

Founders who need iPhone and Android apps at launch without paying for, and coordinating, two separate builds.

Apps with standard business features

Commerce, booking, delivery, membership and internal apps whose screens and integrations work the same way on both platforms.

Teams with React developers

Companies whose engineers already work in React and TypeScript, who can share skills, types and API code with a React Native app.

Owners of two drifting native apps

Teams maintaining separate iOS and Android apps that keep falling out of step, who want one codebase for the features both share.

Why Mindrops for cross-platform apps

Cross-platform apps in production
For Vezito we built the customer, restaurant-partner and rider apps in Flutter, all running on one Node.js backend with Petpooja POS integration.
A framework choice without bias
We build in Flutter, React Native and fully native Swift and Kotlin, so the recommendation follows your app’s needs rather than the one tool a team happens to know.
Native engineers on the same team
When a feature needs platform code, our iOS and Android developers write it, instead of leaving you with a plugin that almost works.
One release rhythm
Both platforms move together: the same features, the same version numbers and coordinated App Store and Google Play releases.

How we deliver a cross-platform app

  1. 01 — Assess

    Choose the framework

We review features, devices and your team’s skills, and recommend Flutter, React Native or native in writing before any build.

  2. 02 — Design

    One design, two platforms

Screens are designed once, with platform conventions such as navigation, back behaviour and permission prompts agreed for iOS and Android.

  3. 03 — Build

    Shared code, native where needed

The shared app, any native modules and the backend are built in increments, with test builds on both platforms every cycle.

  4. 04 — Launch

    Release on both stores

Both apps go through device testing and store review together, followed by monitoring and maintenance after launch.

Message, call or email us about your project. We'll go through your objectives, suggest the most cost-effective approach and give you a rough timeline and cost.

Reach out today. We'll get back to you as quickly as possible.

What is cross-platform app development?
It is building one mobile app that runs on iOS and Android from a single codebase, instead of two separate native apps. Flutter and React Native are the most widely used frameworks for it today.
Flutter or React Native: which is better?
Neither wins everywhere. Flutter draws its own interface, so designs look identical on both platforms and animation is smooth. React Native uses native components and suits teams that already work in React and TypeScript. We compare both against your app before recommending one; see Flutter and React Native.
Is a cross-platform app slower than a native app?
For most business apps, users cannot tell the difference. Native still has an edge for heavy graphics, complex background processing or very low-end devices; there we write that part natively or recommend native iOS and Android apps.
How much can cross-platform development save?
Savings come from writing most features once and maintaining one codebase. You still design for both platforms, test on both and run two store listings, so the saving depends on how much of your app is shared. Our estimate shows both options side by side.
What is the difference between cross-platform and hybrid apps?
Older hybrid apps built with Cordova or PhoneGap ran a web page inside an app shell. Flutter and React Native compile to native code or render with native components, so they look, feel and perform much closer to native apps.
Can you move our two native apps to one codebase?
Yes, usually step by step: new features are built in the shared framework and embedded in the existing apps, then the remaining screens move over, so you keep shipping throughout.
