Frequently asked questions

Practical answers about scope, cost, delivery and what happens next.

What is custom web application development?
It is the design and development of browser-based software for specific users, workflows and data. Unlike a content website, an application lets people complete tasks: approve requests, manage accounts or run a SaaS product. Mindrops covers discovery, design, development, integrations, testing and deployment within the agreed scope.
How much does a custom web application cost?
Cost depends on user roles, workflows, integrations, data migration, security requirements and the first-release scope. After discovery, we provide a written estimate. Fixed-scope, time-and-materials and dedicated-team options are explained in our engagement models.
How long does development take?
The schedule depends on scope, integration complexity, design approvals and the condition of existing data. Discovery establishes milestones and dependencies. A phased release can put the most useful workflows into use before the full roadmap is complete.
Can you integrate with our existing systems?
Yes. We connect applications to existing databases, ERP and CRM systems, payment services and third-party APIs. Discovery checks API availability, access rights, data ownership and migration needs. See our API integration services.
How do you plan for security and growth?
We assess users, data sensitivity, expected traffic and operational requirements before choosing an architecture. The agreed scope can include role-based access, audit logs, security testing, caching, load testing and monitoring. Capacity is reviewed as usage changes.
Who owns the source code?
Client ownership of project source code, documentation and infrastructure configuration is agreed in the engagement. Third-party software and open-source components retain their own licences. The handover plan defines repositories, deployment access and knowledge transfer.
What happens after launch?
We can provide maintenance, fixes, enhancements and managed support. The support agreement defines coverage, response expectations and responsibilities. We can also hand the application over to your internal team with documentation and knowledge transfer.
Can you add AI features to a web application?
Yes. We build document extraction, knowledge search and conversational features into applications, with evaluation and human review where appropriate. Explore our document intelligence and generative AI services.
